When our club was founded 50 years ago, I don’t think Vernon, Jim, Thomas, David, and the other members in 1972 imagined that the club would still be around in 2022, or the wonderful and diverse community of leather clubs that have grown around us. Since the club’s founding, over 300 people have been Atons members or associates, and we’re glad that you are part of that.
The last two years have been rough for us. What does a social club do in a time of social distancing and when we’re all tired of Zoom calls? We paused in-person social activities from April 2020 until July 2021 and suspended all dues.
We resumed outdoor social events in July, like our Cigar socials and Leather & Levi (L&L) dinners. We also hosted a successful Holiday Fundraiser to benefit THRIVE, The Aliveness Project’s PrEP clinic, co-sponsored with Minnesota Leather Pride. We’ve paused our in-person social events again for the winter due to the OMICRON surge, but we look forward to hosting L&L, Smokers, bar nights, and more soon.
We are also planning our upcoming 50th Anniversary Run in September, and our theme is “Celebrate the 70s.” We are happy to announce that registration is now open, and you can find all the details and register on our webpage.
We hope you can join us at the Run and all of our 2022 activities.
